Welcome to the Church of the Everyday Woman where healing takes place in small circles.

Spirituality requires interaction between people.  Sharing your ideas helps you develop a spiritual foundation from which you can grow.  Also, sharing the spiritual traditions that you practice allows them to bump up against the spiritual traditions of others and enhances their meaning.

This is a place where we can share ideas about our spiritual journey.

Roxane Raffin Chan, PhD (c), RN, CMT, AHN-BC, Reiki Master
I have worked as a nurse for over 25 years and bring a wealth of information about healing and the connection between health and self discovery to my classes and private sessions.  Currently I am a PhD candidate at the University of Michigan school of nursing with an NIH grant to study the impact of meditation on anxiety and wellness in persons with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  If you have or know someone who has COPD and would like to participate in this study please email me.

Internet meditation fun!!

Check out this web site for interesting meditation rooms and interacitve breathing rooms.  The site lets you practice breathing patterns similar to pranayamas and breathe to affirmations.  The best part is you get to see who in the world is currently meditating or breathing with you by looking at an interactive map of the world.  Fun!!

Ongoing Meditation classes:

Ongoing meditation group

We are very excited to say that our little group is shaking things up!!!  Starting September 16th we will meet at a new time and begin on a new journey!

We will meet the first and third Sunday of each month from 5 till 6 pm and we will be meditating, sharing and exploring the book, "A course in Miracles".  Yes, we know this is a very old book - and we could probably use some type of guide instead of reading the original book - but we want the real deal and we want to learn together.  For those that cannot attend - like some of our members who have moved to Germany and Washington D.C. - we will be skyping the meeting.  I believe you can skype six people at a time.  So, if you want to join us - send me an e-mail.  You can come in person or if there is room, you can skype us!!

Beginning meditation

Saline Public Library the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 until 8 pm in the evening.  There is no fee for this class and you do not have to have any experience in meditation to attend.  We discuss simple instructions in meditation to get you started and spend time experiencing different forms of meditation such as mantra meditation, focus on the breath, mindful meditation and walking meditation. The meditation instructions are not based on any one particular form or background.  It is not affiliated with any particular religion or belief system.  All are welcome.
